I sold a small item, sent usps 1st class, no tracking number. Post office returned as undeliverable. Buyer states it is the correct address. What can I do to resolve? I don't want to buy postage again only to have it show up on my doorstep again. Thanks

Can't ship anything thicker than 1/4 inch through the mail, is what I found out.

The sticker implies delivery was attempted and the envelop was postmarked leading me to believe it's not a thickness issue.

no tracking so no real info: the postal employee might even of tryed to deliver to the wrong addy... Such happens.
Do a internet search on the addy and see what it shows.

You mean you can't ship a First Class LETTER thicker than 1/4 inch.
STICKING stamps on an envelope and cross your fingers the buyer doesn't claim not received is not a good idea.
You needed to make the envelope at least 3/4 inch in thickness and pay for a First Class Package Label. Then your job is done if tracking shows the address is insufficient. eBay doesn't look at your pictures. You need proof in the tracking.
You should cancel the transaction choosing problem with the buyer's address and relist and let the buyer fix their address and rebuy. Or you can ask for money to reship it and get a valid address. Please use tracking from now on.

I had this happened to me when I shipped even with tracking. The gal said it WAS her correct address. So post office resent it. If it shows up as a valid address when the PO puts it into their machine, they will resend it at no charge. It came back a second time, buyer said it had to do with the new community box their mail is being delivered to. There is no unit number on it... but she say's normally the mail men knows which house it is. So she just gave me an alternate address to send it to and reimbursed me for my second time of shipping.

Yes you can.. it just becomes a first class parcel and jumps up to between $3.50-$5.50 based on the the location it is going to. Tracking usually is free at that point.

If the buyer insists that the address is correct then you can take it to your PO. They should retry to send it again at no charge if it is their delivery error.
Just hope that the buyer actually knows his own mailing address (yes, it does happen that people do not know how to address a mailpiece, even to themselves).
