I bought an item on April 29 and received it on May 2. The item was not as described, and so I opened a return request. Now, after five days there is no reaction from the seller. But the very strange point is that the dispute will be remained open until June 9 !!!!! It means that I should wait 38 days for the seller's response, and just then I can ask eBay to step in.
It is absolutely unacceptable. I really enjoyed eBay's buyer protection policy.

That's the TOTAL time for the claim ... this date thing has been reported before 😞
During this Health Crisis, eBay is giving sellers 2-3 more business days to respond (and buyers abit more time to actually return the item), but no ... You don't have to wait that long to ask eBay to step in.
You should be able to ask eBay to step in on The 5th or 6th business day after opening the return request.

eBay should have told you
- the deadline that the seller is given to respond, as well as
- the date the return request will automatically close if neither of you take action,
like this:
During this health crisis, eBay is giving the seller 0 (zero) additional days* to respond to a return request: It is still 3 business days, which which works out to 3 to 7 calendar days. After that amount of time, if you still don't have a refund, a label, or a response, you should click Ask eBay to step in.
*the buyer gets 21 business days to return, and the seller gets 5 business days to refund, during this crisis

e.g. tyler@ebay wrote here on April 27, 2020:
the change to return time frames and processing times did not impact the time a Seller has to review and respond to a return request. OP should still be able to ask eBay to step in by now.

According to the official calendar, 3 business days are already over and the attached picture shows all I can see.
It is strange that yours includes two different dates and for me, there is just one date.
I am sorry that it is in German.
Here is the eBay.de page that lines up with the .com one up there:

It's the same timeline. Ask eBay to step in on the 4th business day.
