Hi all! I have a quicky question about an item destined to Australia via DHL Express, got slit open and destroyed by German customs authorities during a security check.
I received a message from my buyer in Australia with 2 photos attached clearly showing that the item was slit open and then put back in the box, resealed by the German customs and useless now. Buyer hasn't opened any case yet, asking me a new one. If item didn't cost US$170, I would send him a new one. I am not sure how to approach to this matter. If people with similar experience can share their thoughts and experiences, I would really appreciate.
PS: I thought it's an international law that if customs officials damaged a suspicious parcel during a security check, Government pays some amount. (that's how it's in Canada).
