Is it really legal to collect import charges on a purchased used item shipping from UK to Denmark? 😮🙈

Item price GBP 65

Shipping GBP 12.98

Import charges GBP 21.26

Well, my first question would be: How does Denmark know it is actually a "used" item and not simply an attempt to evade taxes?

The Danish tax authorities wouldn't know unless someone tells them. But should this be me and how is this procedure?

Taxes and charges makes sense to apply on new items but in this case I bought a 20 year old vintage t-shirt 🙂

You might be better off asking on the EBAY UK boards.  Or do they have a European Ebay or Ebay Denmark?

New or used may have nothing to do with fees.  Have to check with customs in your country.
