ID Priority Mailing Box

I was reading this discussion on the selling forum and saw photos of a USPS PM box. It's kind of hard to tell because of the image resolution, but the box looks to me like it was produced that way and not customized by the seller.  When I zoom in to read the box size the image is too pixelated for me to make out the text.

Is this an old box that I somehow forgot about? I looked at the USPS site and didn't find one like it currently in production - although I did browse through pretty quick.

Any clues if this is available, used to be available, or is one of the regular side flap boxes customized by the seller?

If you place a big enough order, USPS will have custom size boxes made for you.

Like, really really big order.

That box looks like a custom build for a large customer.

I believe that there are some odd size PM boxes out there that were/are custom size boxes that were never available at the PO, or to order.

Specialized custom size boxes.  Have had some items delivered in such.

Did you ask the member who posted the image?  It does look like it was a custom product. Over the years there have been various products that USPS offered to the general public for only a short time; I vaguely recall some specialized heavy-duty padded boxes for electronics.

I was able to glean some details after squinting at it via a big monitor. The internal dimensions are 17½"x17¼"x4 7/8". Outside dimensions are 18½"x17 7/8"x 6 1/8". Its barcode ID ends in 0101321, which looks like a custom order.

Box construction appears to be double walls on both sides and probably the bottom as well, with a top lid that folds an outer flap down over the side, with end tabs on that flap folding into each side between the inner and outer layer. I have similar boxes (not USPS branded) of the same design that were originally used for shipping circuit boards and rack-mount computer components, and they're pretty tough.
