OK, I can't delete my other post, so I'm going to detail it here. I think my item (book) is lost in the mail because when I checked the tracking, it hasn't moved from a distribution spot since the 15th. I contacted the seller to let them know. I don't know why I didn't put down this info in my other post. And I can't edit that post on my phone app. Is there any way to ask a seller to use another delivery method? Asking in case I order something else.

Oh my!

Mail is not considered lost until it has been at least three weeks with no scans whatsoever. I have had packages disappear off the radar for a week and then pop back up again at the destination post office.

That’s right. I’ve bought from many sellers that don’t use tracking and have never had a problem. Back in the day, there was a lot of cash and checks exchanged and hardly anyone used tracking.

If the estimated delivery date was the 17th of September, a Sunday, per eBay's MBG, you, the buyer, have 30 days past that date to open an item not received case; however, since it's media mail, as others have stated, you probably should give it more like a week to arrive.

But that was back in the day when tracking (AKA Delivery Confirmation) cost extra.
Now, USPS automatically includes it at no additional charge in all package postage (both online and retail) so the only truly untracked items are those that are sent as letters or flats. Nevertheless, eBay does not require sellers to SHARE any tracking info they might have.

OK I didn't know that. The 17th-yesterday- was the day it was estimated to arrive. Should I wait until Monday or Tuesday to report it to eBay? If I paid for something, I should expect to get it. I'm a little preturbed because last week another item ordered on eBay was lost and I had to get it replaced.

But back in the day, we never heard of "porch pirates" or dishonest dilivery people.

Again, given the fact that this was Media Mail, and that MM is the slowest method of shipping available, you probably should, realistically, give it more like a week before you open an INR case.

OK. I'll do that. Thanks.

I’m very pro-buyer, but your behavior and expectations are pretty bad. I suspect you have made it onto about thirty blocked-buyer lists because of your post and the subsequent discussion of how you treat sellers.
