I can't get the shipping calculator for my listing to re-calculate a correction correctly

I recently started a new listing and calculated the weight. I noticed I needed to change a weight entry slightly and  entered the new information and recalculated the shipping it was extremely higher than what it calculated before. I don't see a way to reset shipping calculator to calculate new information correctly. Never had this happen before.? Thanks

It's impossible to give any advice based on the vague information provided.  Your only new listing shows a fixed price for shipping.

Which listing? What were the original and revised package weight and dimensions? What were the before-and-after exact postage costs shown?

I can't get the shipping calculator for my listing to re-calculate a correction correctly

I haven't posted this item to sell yet because of shipping information calculation problem. I have cleared and re-entered  all information for shipping and it calculates the same amount each time even for reduced weight entry. It doesn't matter what I enter for weight it  calculates the same higher amount.
I deleted one listing because of this problem and started a new listing. That worked until I needed to correct an entry. Same problem.
I would like to know the correct procedure to clear and shipping information for my item and re-enter new information and have it calculate correctly.
Sure has me puzzled
Thanks

Thank you for providing some vague hints, even without the requested details.  The situation you describe sounds like you are encountering a dimensional weight, which USPS charges for packages that are over 1 cubic foot (1728 cubic inches).  Larger packages are charged based on volume rather than actual weight.

Changes in the shipping terms (weight, dimensions, etc.) should be immediately reflected in the calculated postage; there's no separate step for "clearing" old information, it is automatically replaced with the new data.
