How to communicate my payment info to buyer so they can send money?

I had a buyer recently open a return for an item and they stated in messages that it was not because of anything I did or the product being defective, but simply that the item turned out to not be compatible with their equipment... basically a buyer mistake/remorse. I even got them to agree to pay for return shipping in the messages(btw, I offer free shipping/free returns). However, they chose item defective/not working as the reason. Does that NOT give them the option to pay for return shipping or does the buyer still have to pay for the return label on their own?  Is there a way to get my return shipping charge back since I have already paid for the return label?

Is there anyway to send them my payment info so they can send a payment to me? Of course Ebay axes an easy way to communicate any easy way to tell a buyer emails addresses for Paypal or anything else within messages. If I just say "look at Paypal info for the original payment"  should they easily be able to find my email address for sending a payment?

If you offer Free Returns, the buyer shouldn't have to pay for the return shipping... for whatever reason.

Did the buyer use your label, or provide their own? Buyer can ignore the 'auto generated' label and still ship it (and pay for it) on their own. You are not charged that label unless it is actually used.

If you offer free returns, YOU pay for the return, no matter the reason.  Free returns means SELLER PAID returns for ANY reason, or no reason at all.

You talked your buyer into paying return shipping when they didn't need to, so of course they filed a false SNAD.  I would have, too,  just to give you a ding.

You still have to pay for the return label. You now have a SNAD in your metrics.  Good job, you kicked yourself in the butt on that one.

I am sick and tired of seeing sellers offer free returns, then try to wiggle and worm their way out of it when someone wants to do a return.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

That's interesting, I did not know that. So they have that option even if they chose item defective or inad? They can still choose to pay the return shipping? Is that option always given to buyers when they choose changed mind/remorse even if seller lists as free returns?

So it is my understanding that if a seller offers free returns BUT charges shipping, they can withhold the original shipping charge if buyers remorse. Can they also withhold original shipping if inad(I'll bet not, right?).

Also, can anyone please address how to communicate how to send payment info to a buyer?Like I asked, should they easily be able yo see either my Paypal or Ebay managed payments info to send a separate payment? I may have to chat with Ebay to explain the messages and the buyer's mistake and give a shot at seeing if they will take the inad count off my record and pay for the return label.

You offer FREE RETURNS, the buyer doesn't need your payment information. Stop trying to get around the system

If you have free returns, you pay the return shipping, no matter what the reason is for the return.

The buyer doesn't need any payment info.

To all saying he doesn't need my info... the buyer WANTED to pay the return shipping. They mentioned it on their own so we agreed on it. They didn't know what they were doing when clicking the reason.

So anyway, regardless of this situation, is a buyer easily able to see/find the payment(email address for PP) or find the payment info for an Ebay managed payment transaction if they want to send an extra payment?

Since you are already in a transaction you are allowed to send an email address to the buyer. I'm not aware of a way that they can see your email on PP or ebay.
