How many Ebay shippers are familiar with and use cubic rate shipping to save our buyers money?

This is really a hidden gem when it comes to shipping . Under the right circumstances, this could be a tremendous savings. Why doesn't Ebay offer this to us? With shipping rates ever increasing, CRS is a way to reduce shipping costs, ultimately saving our customers money, thereby making our listings look more appealing due to this cost savings. Personally, I value my customers. They help me pay my bills and pay for other things I want. In return, I will take an extra minute to find them the most reasonable shipping cost that I can. I owe them this courtesy. For those of you who are charging your customers a shipping rate 2, 3 times the actual cost to ship an item. Shame on you. And for the customers willing to pay it, shame on you too. You and that buyer belong together. For the rest of us, I think offering the best shipping cost we can to our customers is not only good business, it is good manners as well, even if it isn't a cubic shipping rate.

I offer free shipping on all my items and then I ship it the most economical way for me as stated in my listing. I use eBay shipping labels because it is fast and easy. I have found that I cannot get a better price shipping it directly through the carrier than I can through eBay. So, I am very curious as to what CRS is and how it works. Would you mind elaborating a little more?

eBay doesn't offer potage labels for cubic rate, which is a type of Priority Mail. You can find description of it on other postage selling sites such as pirateship and stamps.com:

You do realize that shipping costs are not just what we pay the shipping company to transport it? Shipping supplies are $$$$ and only going up from here on out. There is the time/cost involved in getting items to Fedex/UPS/USPS, especially for those of us with issues getting dependable pickups at home. Particularly with USPS's latest policy change about drivers not picking up/scanning excess packages going into effect this month.

While I do not support charging 2 or 3 times more than the actual shipping cost - it's not like buyers can't see the total cost including shipping before they complete the purchase. Most buyers make their purchasing decisions based on the total cost. While you might not agree with the shipping charges from some sellers, it's not like buyers are forced to purchase via eBay.

I do most of my items as "free shipping" to the buyer, so that I can use the most cost effective way to ship the item, but I do roll most of that cost, as do other sellers with free shipping" into the price of the item. Buyers are paying for that shipping in some manner.

I'm very much aware of the fact that it is not part of the eBay shipping program. This why I'm asking the OP to elaborate how to do this.

And that's why I provided a link with a thorough explanation of it from a provider.

I just shipped a package from Alaska to Florida. A lawnmower battery. Package was 8x8x8. 17 pounds. On Ebay this would have been $51.00 priority. With cubic shipping, it is like $18. Pretty significant difference.

You should not have shipped a lawnmower battery cubic rate. The cubic rate is a Priority rate. Batteries need to be sent via ground.
