First time having to file a claim with post office. Does anyone know how to go about it? I sold a ceramic lamp. I packed it with plenty of packing, bubble wrap and even double boxed it. I mailed it priority so it has $100 coverage. Buyer sent me pictures showing the damage and wants me to pay for the return shipping. I went to the USPS website to see if I could find instructions on how to proceed. I read that the addressee should hold on to the package when filing the claim, not to return the item. Is there any instructions on ebay on how to proceed?

Unless you are a top rated seller, the package only has $50 insurance. It’s $100 for TRS. You can file the claim on the USPS website. Ask the buyer to hold on to everything in case the PO needs to inspect it. If the buyer returns the item, it will void any insurance claim and if you do want the item back you are required to pay for return shipping. The buyer gets a refund whether the PO approves your claim or not.
