How do I get reimbursed for return shipping?

I had purchased an item that was not at all as described, so I selected to return and when prompted, I selected they email me a return label.  I never received the label. I had called ebay as when I went directly through ebay to print the label, I kept getting an error code. I was advised to go ahead and go through Paypal to do a return label and they would email me how to try and get reimbursed. I never got that email, and when going through Paypal, they wanted $50 to send the item back. Instead, I went through USPS and even with insurance, it was only $18. Is there any way I can get reimbursed this $18 as it was returned due to the items description being way off AND the seller even changed the descriptions, photos, etc after I'd purchased this in order to sell more like it.  I would really like this money back. Any suggestions?

Ask the seller to give you the money.

I am assuming this is a seller from China ... China sellers do not provide return labels because it usually costs more than the item is worth.    If this is the case, the only return service that gives you tracking back to a seller in China indeed costs more than $50 ... the cheaper service will not do this, and you'll lose your money.

Call eBay again and get a customer service representative that can actually help you ... if the seller does not provide a return label, then ask them close the case in your favor.

A seller in China would be required to send money to pay for the return shipping.

I know ... it was just some general language I was using.

A China seller will provide for return shipping costs in perhaps only 1 in 1000 returns simply because tracked returns to China cost more than $50.  The other 999 times the buyer has to call customer service and ask them to close the return because the China seller didn't provide return shipping.
