I had a buyer purchase two auctions and pay for them together. Individually, they would weigh 12 oz and I'd ship first class. Because Ebay is lumping them together, the label info now shows 1 lb 8 oz and priority mail shipping, as if it was one package. They HAVE to ship separately.
I've read that after you print a label there is an option to PRINT ANOTHER LABEL, but can't find info on HOW to do it. Do I:
1) On the first label, put 1 lb 8 oz (total weight of both packages) and select priority mail, print that label, and then use the Print Another Label link and it will print out a second label for the shipment (like a 2/2) without having to add in additional weight, or anything like that?
2) Or, on the first label, do I put 12 oz and select first class mail, print that label, and then when I select the Print Another Label link it gives the option to put a specific weight in for the second label and select first class mailing?
Nowhere does it say what you will encounter if you press the Print Another Label link, if it just prints an identical label and is a 2/2, or if it expects you to plug in different info and it charges you separately for the second label.

On your orders page where you see the two items grouped together, there will be one drop-down menu beside the grouping of the items, and a separate drop down menu beside each of the individual items. If you select the "Print Shipping Label" associated with that individual item, that will allow you to ship that individual item in a separate package ... do the same thing for each of the other items in your group. Doing this you can get multiple labels, each associated with its own item.
If you have already purchased a label for the combined items, a second label can be printed. Again, from your orders page you will see a drop-down menu beside the grouping of items. Click on that drop-down and select the "Print another label" option ... then configure and purchase the second label.

Why does two pounds of items "HAVE" to ship separately?
Just ship them together.

Two 12 ounce packages will ship cheaper than a 2 pound package to zones 5-9 ... I don't think the savings are worth the hassle, but one could save a buck.
More likely, the OP has pre-packaged the items before they sold.

If you have two items with a shipping weight of 12 oz each you can ship them First Class Mail with the highest cost of $4.46 per package. The total cost for the two packages are $8.92. Whereas a two pound Priority Mail Package can cost you $10.85. That's an extra $1.93, and remember eBay is taking 10% of the shipping charge and another 2.9% goes to PayPal.
It's not always feasible to combine items. I have some very fragile items which are pre-packaged that I ship First Class Mail with a 14 ounce shipping weight. Some customers do want more than one. I won't ship together because it of their fragile nature and when they want a second it becomes an oversize box with a three pound shipping weight.

That link takes you to a fresh new label preparation page where you can enter the package weight for the second package. So, that's your option 2. Each package must have its own accurate label; USPS doesn't know or care that they were part of the same eBay transaction.

Everything they have sold that could possibly weigh in in OZ can ship in a Padded Flat Rate.
