If you have a lot of items to take into your post office, how do you get them inside? Dolly? Basket? Bags?
If I have about 15 items in poly bags, I will use trash bags & go put them in the big bin inside the post office.
When I have many items boxes & bags, I drive around to the back of the Main post office, (where the big trucks go) and back up to the big doors and give them to an employee. That makes it pretty simple for me.

When I have a stack of boxes, I put a long Velcro strap around them and drag them in.
I saw this on Facebook and I am dying to get one. You'll have to Google it:

You should probably go inside and ask first, before you go driving around back unannounced; that is not a public area.
Our local PO parks a vehicle right bang in the middle of the access road leading to the dock, moving it only when the twice-daily trucks visit. That message is clear. In downtown Chicago, the access depends on which site you're at, but it would not surprise me if you got guns pointed at you for pulling that stunt at some locations.
In short, ask first. They might simply send someone out to help you unload.

This is where we were told to go when they changed the rules. Around the back. There is a smaller spot for cars to go (left), the trucks go straight ahead thru gates. Forgot to mention that.

Hi
My main post office (Vegas) use to let us ask for a orange hamper (big) on wheels. I would take that to my car, load it up, then take it back into the post office and leave it where they had a spot for them. They do not do that anymore. they say take them around the back. I use this post office after 5pm because its open til 9PM.
I do have a smaller post office near my house, so when I have just a few items, and can get there before 5pm, that is were I go.

I use several larger bags (like the ones that Ikea has) and bring them w/my scan sheet and wait for them to be scanned. I need to be sure that the pkgs arrived at the post office and the scan sheet puts them in the system for me. I normally try to get there before 5 because that is when the business/offices employees come in.
I never drop them on the counter - my clerks do not like that because if the space is needed, someone has to move them in order for the clerk to open.

Talk with your post office folks and ask them what they would like you to do. 3 of the 4 post offices I visit have a window to just drop things off at and I use those for when I just have a couple. Put them in a plastic bag to carry in, then take out and put on the counter and off I go. When I have more than 4 or 5 items, I have 1 of my post offices is a regional hub, so they have a drop off dock for bulk shipping. Just take all my items either in the Post Office bins or in plastic bags, pull up drop off and drive away. But I did not use that service until I asked them about it and the first time, I also went into their office area to just talk with them and make sure all was good. Now its just drop and go.

I have a slew of those super lightweight, reusable Home Goods totes that they sell at the registers. They cost 99 cents each and they hold quite a bit. Lots of stores sell them but they are usually smaller and cost more. I can put them over my shoulder and my hands stay free. If I have several to bring in and need my hands to carry the excess, it's easy to put it down for a moment to open a door, and I'm not bending over very far to get it back into my hand.
Many of my packages aren't generally heavy but can be loaded with packing peanuts making them quite a bit larger than the item.
Those bags come in handy for many things.
They are similar to the IKEA medium tote which has a better weight limit, but no IKEA here. The HG totes measure about 19" long by 7" wide and 17" tall

I have different sized tote bags I get from yard sales. The best are large gift totes you get with perfume specials like from Bath & Body works. I shove all of my poly bags, and sometimes can get a shoe box in there.

I use the same totes as @scga912 when I have a lot of packages that aren't too heavy. (Those also come in handy for toting Christmas gifts.) If packages are heavy then I have a wheeled cart.
If I know the day in advance that I have a lot of packages I will schedule a carrier pickup.
And if I only have a few small mailers I'll stick 'em in the mailbox with the flag up or drop them in the nearest blue box.

I can get a 12x12x8 box into the HG tote and a shoe box and still have room for poly bags and a few 1096L (VHS) boxes. lol
Tote bags are awesome.

My mother and I have 12 totes we use just for the PO. Sometimes they're those cheap ones with magazine subscriptions that can fit 4 large bags, sometimes those World Market totes that are more medium sized, or the large Victoria's Secret, Estee Lauder, B&B works, etc. I do run into the occasional ebay seller that uses a small plastic laundry bin which, is a great idea for them. I swear totes are the way to go though. They're all cute. XD
