Help me understand this

I have been on here for years, sold lots in the past. In my selling as soon as I sold an item, I make sure the item is exact, pack it up, put the address on it and take it to the post office. The tracking number eBay usually then kicks in and it shows it’s journey.

recently I did this, and bought a label, but the Q code didn’t work as I couldn’t get it. So I made another label and sent it the post office with another tracking. Updated my tracking, I sent the item to the buyer which says it was delivered and handed to somebody at the address. The buyer keeps running this story that they never got the item, they don’t know where it is and the the person it was handed to doesn’t know either.
They claim the tracking number which I got from my post office is not the real one. And sending me messages saying, where is my package? How come your tracking number doesn’t work?
when it was clearly delivered to them last week, can anybody explain this? Thanks for reading.

No I can not.

All you can do is send the tracking number to the buyer.

Dont bother to keep up the back and forth.

IF the buyer files an "item not received" case, insert the correct tracking into the case.

@ledz58

You could try sending them a "screenshot" of the tracking showing delivery.

They have the correct tracking number which says it was delivered, I’ve sent them every tracking company including USPS showing the journey of their parcel and that at the end it was handed to someone at that address. They keep asking me where is their package. I don’t know because who ever it was handed to has it.

Did you void the first label? If you forgot, it might be too late if 5 days have passed.  That # is probably showing on the transaction in MY EBAY.  Perhaps your buyer is trying to get a freebie because of the first label.  Tell him to knock it off .  Tell him the correct shipping label is the 2nd one you printed that shows that the item is delivered. Let them know if they keep it up , you will be reporting them to trying to commit postal fraud.  Remind them that postal fraud is also a federal crime.  You can prove that the first label WAS NEVER used but the 2nd one was used and the item has arrived.

For this part, try to be sympathetic and say that perhaps a neighbor has it. If not, then he/she might be a victim of a porch pirate.

If he opens a claim, put in the tracking # of the one that shows delivered. It should close out.  Make sure that you block this buyer.

@ledz58 You are getting caught up in minute details which aren't relative. It is best to stick to the policies on this platform and all will work out for you. You apparently have a delivered scan on your tracking so you are golden now. Stop messaging with this buyer, either they don't understand how the platform works or they are attempting to scare you into a refund. Your portion is completed, you are done.

The buyer can 'claim' whatever they want but if they open an item not received case, all you have to do is enter the tracking number on the case. That will show the system the package was delivered and case will close in your favor.

Stop allowing this bad buyer to live in your head. Move along and concentrate on selling your other items. You know what to do if they open that INR case. You are not required to respond to their continued messages. Best of luck to you....

Now the buyer has left me bad feedback saying they never received the item. Can I have this removed since its a lie, comment back and expose their dishonesty.

I believe when the INR closes in your favor the f/b will be removed or you can have it removed. You can make a note in the case with the correct tracking number and that a prior one was voided and not used. For some (wrong) reason both numbers are still in the order details even though the first is null.

I don't believe your buyer is being scammy, more likely just clueless. They don't have their item, no clue what to do, panic and head for the feedback...

and besides that, every tracking number in the order says it was delivered and handed to someone at that address.

No need to reply, just get it removed. I usually go through seller help. I'd request removal with a comment similar to:

Package was shipped USPS [tracking] and delivered [date] to the address on the order. This information has been communicated to the buyer multiple times. Please remove this negative feedback since the package was delivered.
