I bought a $210 SoClean 2 CPAP cleaner for a Christmas gift. E-Bay sent me a shipping message stating I'd receive it on Monday 12/9; however, when I clicked on the tracking no. it said it was delivered to Lexington, Ky. I'm in Central, IL! I wrote the seller asking a question prior to the sale, but received no response. I've now sent 4 messages & still nothing. I've heard if you file a claim saying item not received yet it shows delivered that I won't get a refund. Is this true? Can somebody tell me what to do? The E-Bay seller's page advertises they are an authorized distributor for SoClean 2 company. I can't see how they are, being this unprofessional. It was a great price & now I know why! I just want my money back, so I can hopefully find another one before the holidays so my loved one can feel better. Thank you!

Hi @onesmileynurse, I've made some edits to my previous response for clarification. To reiterate, if you ordered an item and it was not delivered to the address you provided when you made the purchase, you would receive a refund. Anything that has given you the indication that you are not eligible for a refund when you don't receive your order and the tracking doesn't show successful delivery your city/zip would be incorrect. I apologize if my previous response caused any confusion, I was trying to clarify that buyers are protected when there is no evidence they received their order, and sellers are protected when there is no evidence that they received a return from their buyer.
To summarize: we look at tracking to make a decision, but we look at more than just a Delivered status. You just need to open an item not received request from your purchase history and ask eBay to step in if the seller does not resolve your concerns within 3 business days.

Hi @Anonymous why does eBay continue to be unable to detect tracking delivered to the wrong zip code -- i.e. eBay always shows "Delivered" regardless where tracking was actually delivered -- so that eBay will pay the buyer when that happens?

Same in my case, seller has been paid and I have no delivery! All I can do is write to the seller, who hasn't responded after 4 inquiries yet, so I'm assuming he/she won't & then after 3 days E-Bay will escalate the case and who knows how long it'll take for me to actually get my money back.

@onesmileynurse Below is another thread that was recently posted and it was a specific different address scam. however, some of the processes may benefit you in your situation. As a Seller I have accidentally swapped labels and shipped items to the wrong Buyers which is a pain to correct ... and one time it was a double label printout, meaning the same label printed twice instead of a different one. So it is possible the Seller made a mistake but it also possible it is a scam ... not sure what kind of scam risk the SoClean 2 CPAP cleaner is but it does not strike me as high on the scam list ... but $ 210 is$ 210 ...

Hi @edwedw8383, happy to clarify any confusion on this; we certainly able to detect when tracking is delivered to the wrong zip/city. A refund would be issued if the item was not successfully delivered to the buyer initially, like in the situation that @onesmileynurse is discussing. No refund would be issued if we were asked to step in and help when the tracking shows delivery to the incorrect location for a return back to the seller. In a situation where an item has been delivered to the wrong location, either for an item not received request from the buyer or a return to the seller, we simply need to be asked to step in so we can review for appropriate action. If a mistake is made in the original case decision, we would be able to correct this through an appeal.
You've linked to a previous response of mine to a situation where a buyer did not receive their item and tracking showed delivery elsewhere. I confirmed in that response that the buyer is protected when they don't receive their item and tracking shows delivered to another location. If a seller is waiting for a return from their customer and the tracking shows delivered to the wrong address, they would be eligible for the same protections.

Oh no worries, @onesmileynurse. I did make some edits to ensure it made sense, as I could see how the original response wasn't clear enough when I transitioned from talking about the initial shipment to a buyer, and the return back to the seller. I think it makes sense that you would read it the way you first read it before I made some changes and I'm just glad I was able to help clear up any confusion 😊
