This morning I rec'd an email from Global Shipping stating that an item I was shipping to a buyer in Canada cannot be completed because it has been deemed "restricted." Buyer was refunded by them and apparently I'm still keeping his $$ as well. It says the item will not be shipped to him and will NOT be returned to me. It's a carving knife (NOT a weapon) made about 170 years ago out of salvaged metal from an historic shipwreck from 230 years ago. He doesnt want his money back, he wants this historic item. I dont want to just keep the money, I want the knife back, or him to get it. I understand not being able to send weapons/ gun parts and all that but it's a damned carving knife! Hell anything at all can be used as a weapon if you wanted to.... Is there a way to contact global shipping about this? ebay itself wasn't any help when I called them. Thanks a lot.

The gsp always keeps the items that they will not ship internationally. They have a company that sells the item domestically for them. In their minds both you and the buyer are whole and they aren't going to spend more money to send the item back.

The liquidator will use your photos and your words when they list it, yes on eBay. So keep looking for those if you want to try to buy it back.

Thanks a lot for that info- I had no idea- I'll have to keep an eye out for it and see if I can have him end up with it after all.
