I do not use this because someone claimed a defect in the Item I sold, and ebay told me had to reimburse entire sale (including customs fees). I sold an $8 phone case and it ended up costing me $22. They said there was a scratch on the case, which I could not see. I had to refund anyway.
Is this the norm? If someone claims a defect and wants a refund, do I have to reimburse customs fees?
It's been a while since this happened. I would like to try and increase my sales , but do not want to lose more money than I make.

That’s not how it works. They may open the package in some cases but that is more for customs purposes, not to confirm that the item is as described. A gsp buyer is covered by the mbg just like any buyer.
The gsp does cover the refund if the item was damaged in shipping or if the item gets lost after it leaves the gsp Center. But if the seller did not correctly describe the item, sent the wrong item etc. The seller is responsible for return shipping and the refund.
