I sold an item to a customer in France and paid the £8 cost to the UK-end shipping centre. They obviously incurred further costs and local tax etc., but that was nothing to do with me.
Having agreed a return and refund I am liable for the £8, but the system wants me to confirm that I have a label/ sent a label/ can't buy a label... etc., so I am now confused. I know eBay cover the shipping costs beyond the £8 incurred by me, but i don't know know how I fit in to this process.
Do I print a label? - is it from the GSP UK address to mine for the £8? Do I just agree to the refund amount that includes the £8 and eBay sorts out the rest? Even if the former is correct, I don't have a reference number for GSP (other than the original one). I don't know how to complete this transaction - any advice? ...other than don't use GSP again...

Hi
Noted that a return case is open and you have accepted the return.
Your comments suggest that case is for something like " Item not as described" or " Does not work" and in that case you arer liable for return postage cost to you.
It is highly unlikely that you can purchase a postage label from France and in that case you are required to respond/ message the buyer through the return case asking them to advise postage cost of sending the item back using a signed for/ tracked service and their email address linked to their PayPal account which will enable you to send required amount to them. Failure to do this will result in eBay closing the case with a full refund to buyer and buyer will not be required to return the item to you.
I would also advise buyer to make sure that customs declaration that they fill shows that item is NOT a sale and is being returned to seller. This should avoid you payimh Vat and any other taxes/ charges that may be due to HM collectors of taxes.
Using GSP means you are not liable for postage and any other charges that buyer paid directly to GSP.
Depending on the value of item it may be that return postage cost is greater or similar to the value of item and in that case you may consider issing a refund ( Item price+ UK postage charges) and case will close/ your account will be debited and buyer keeps the item.
You may also consider sending buyer a message offering a partial refund and if buyer agrees then you can refund the agreed amount and on buyer's confirmation eBay will close the return case.
Hope this helps.

Why does the buyer wish to return the item?
