First class overcharge issues

Hello!

Need some help with a First class mail issue.  In the past on our old store it would round up to the next service once capped out at 15.99oz on multiple item purchases

No on a order that is 2 lbs, it just charges some crazy amount for First Class shipping ($30 for 2 lbs. in one case) instead of defaulting to Parcel Select or Priority mail ($10.00 in case above) like it use to.

Customers just think they are being overcharged instead of using the drop down box to manually select a different shipping option.

Am I missing a key setting on this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i just ran into this too. I actually didn't realize I could go cheaper and my customer messaged me asking me to try parcel which saved them about $4.

@yakhobby Yes this is not working correctly and hasnt' since late last year.  Used to be if you offered both FCP and either priority or parcel select eBay would automatically update to the higher class postage if the total weight exceeded 1 lb.  NOW instead it calculates all the FCP rates, once for each item and ADDS them together unless the BUYER knows to select the Priority or Parcel select rates.

And yes, this causes buyers to not purchase.  Some will send a message asking and I can explain the process, but I'm sure that most just walk away from the transaction.

PS. And my listings have the "combined shipping allowed flags set" just to be sure that's understood.
