Fans doesn't fit and seller closed return

I bought a Corsair sp120 rgb fan from a seller and tried to install it to my rgb controller and it doesn't fit, I tried to request a refund but the seller closed it, is there any way I can fight this?

Fans doesn't fit and seller closed return

Take another look at the item listing from your Purchase History page. Does the seller allow returns? If not, s/he does not have to accept your return or issue you a refund through eBay's return system.

If the seller does allow refunds, why was the seller able to close it? Did you wait too long to return the fan to the seller?

Have you pursued your options with PayPal?

Fans doesn't fit and seller closed return

There are two important pieces of information that you are leaving out.  Let me try to get this clarified.

Question 1 - Did you (a) order the wrong fan, and it didn't fit; or, you thought it might fit, and it didn't; or (b) get the fan the seller advertised and promised in the listing, but the listing description was wrong and/or the fan you received was somehow different than what the listing described (e.g., the fan dimensions are wrong, or he stated it would fit a particular case)?

Question 2 - In the seller's listing, do they accept returns?

  • If the seller accepts returns, then you need to elaborate.  A seller cannot close a return if they accept returns ... perhaps eBay closed the return because you did not ship the item back.
  • If the seller does not accept returns and your situation is "a", then you can not return the fan.
  • If the seller does not accept returns, your situation is "b", and you selected as the return reason "Doesn't fit", then you selected the wrong return reason ... you should have selected "Doesn't match the description or photos" to force a return.   This is actually a problem with eBay's return system where "Doesn't fit" is really intended as a clothing return reason.   You can call eBay and explain that the return is actually a "SNAD (Significantly Not as Described)" and that you selected the best return reason because the seller's listing promised it would fit and it doesn't ... they may allow you to appeal the decision to get a refund.  If they don't post back here and we can give other steps you can take.
