Ebay standard envelope question

Hi, I have recently shipped some orders using eBay standard envelope. My shipments are still showing as "label created" a day after sending my packages to the post office. If the envelope thickness is 0.5in at some points will it get rejected by USPS?

Ebay standard envelope question

Here are the official eBay Standard Envelope rules, from the eBay site:

Envelope requirements

  • No smaller than 3.5” x 5”
  • No larger than 6.125” x 11.5”
  • No thicker than .25”
  • Weighs up to 3 oz.

So if your envelope is 0.5 inches "at some points", yes, it will be rejected for "insufficient postage," and probably bumped up to the proper USPS rate.

Also -- the ESE is NOT scanned in the same manner as regular USPS First Class mail.  They are treated as "metered mail," and the meter numbers are "read" by USPS sorting machines at the next USPS Delivery Center -- usually NOT the USPS branch at which the ESEs are dropped off.

So, over a weekend, I wouldn't expect to see any transport messages.
