Ebay estimated delivery date and sellers getting lazy….

I buy and sell too and when I sold item, I never pay attention ebay estimate delivery dates…always ship the same  day if early enough or the next day and when I shop Amazon, they always seem to ship right away…not all ebay sellers but many whom I bought, they print out label the next day but do not ship for days or even week go by….so I ask seller what’s up with that?

always seller respond like this…you will get it by estimate date and seller ships the day suppose to be delivery date….

Not all but sometimes ebay gives 2 weeks estimate delivery date to sellers in the US …not right that sellers wait till the last day of estimate delivery date to ship and say I ship within estimate dates ebay has given…yea it supposed received by this date not ship the same day it suppose to arrive…

print out shipping label but do not ship for 6 to 15 days is not right.

They all want fast payment but never bother to ship item to buyer timely manner…

some may say, sellers have life and stuff to do…well so the buyer and their time and money is also valuable as sellers.

You should take into consideration that most eBay sellers have jobs other than eBay so shipping same or next business day may not be convenient for them. Some sellers , although not the smartest business model, have items drop shipped so shipping times will not be fast.

Checking  handling times on listings you are interested in would be wise if you want something fast. 

With items shipped Media Mail the post office gives up 10 days for delivery. So there it depends on the method of shipping as well.

Sellers are required to ship within their stated handling time, or they get a ding on their account from eBay.

A "timely manner" is within the stated handling time, not when the buyer thinks it should be shipped.

If someone buys from me today, my ship by date is next Monday.

If items do not arrive by the estimated date buyer can open an INR .

If items arrive after the estimated delivery date buyers can open a "not as described in listing" return request.

A seller can have a handling of same day shipping to 30 days and as long as they ship within their handling time, they are good.

I do understand a lot of sellers have regular jobs, family and all and who doesn’t?

to me, mostly on ebay not other online stores do this practice.

I too a busy person and have a life and families and all and whatever I do ebay include I take it seriously and my time and buyers time is valuable.

I see most sellers listed handling time is 2 to 3 days ok …unless I m buying exclusive jewelry item that requires make to order than seller has 10 day handling time order to make it…I get it and I read it.

but if handling time is 2 days but not ship for 5 to 6 days is not right…what if you buy and not pay for a week or so is that ok? No.

some people sell a lot and ships a bulk item and hands over to third party to deal with and that you never know when you gonna get it.

but most sellers, me included and you can print out label at home or bussiness and put them in a mail box or even go online and have schedule pick up at your door step.

@mybabylily I understand your complaint and you are correct. There are many sellers who are waiting for the funds to hit their bank account before they will ship the item out, which isn't correct and against policy on here. The best you can do is be aware of the estimated date of delivery. Once that passes just file an item not received case. Even if you eventually get your item, having cases filed against them will make those sellers rethink this practice. You can also use feedback to make your feelings known, just remain respectful as you have here. Best of luck to you....
