Dont even know how to handle a return when Ebay wont even stand up for me.

So I sell hard drives on Ebay. I also sell non working hard drives in lots for parts or repair. I listed 90 laptop hard drives. I listed from ebays condition list. "For Parts or Not Working". In the listing description I said several times " these drives are non working" " for parts or repair". " No Warranty or Return". I also have it listed as return policy " Not accepting returns". The buyer even messaged me asking me what was wrong with the drives, before he purchased. I told them, the defect could be anything. They are not working. So he purchased anyways. Well today he filed for a return for "Doesn't match description or photos". In the comments he wrote that they would not work with his computer". I called ebay and asked for this to be closed. I would understand if I said they where blue and he said they where red. But his Doesn't match description or photos was exactly what I said several times in the listing. Well guess what. The customer service person, who was reading what to do out of a manual. Said the standard. you have three days to work things out with the buyer, Then ebay will step in. We will probably tell him to send them back to you and issue a refund. It falls under our money back guarentee. I said what. But I said in the listing several times they where not working and his complaint is they are not working. Then she said well when you get them back you can file a complaint against him. We take complaints very seriously. I almost started to laugh. Nothing has ever come of any complaint I have ever made. I dont care about a complaint. I dont want to refund him and be forced to pay the return on something, when I did nothing wrong. But she just said we have a money back blah blah blah. So I said can I talk to a manager. She said my manager will get back to you within 24 hours. I laughed again. I have been down that road before and never has a manager ever called me back. So I said well you cant help me and got off the phone. I called back and got another customer service person. Guess what, the same exact conversation. Ebay just doesnt care about whats right when it comes to sellers I guess.

I have been selling here for twenty years. I have a great feedback. People have seen in feedback to me. "Best seller ever" but more and more I am seeing Buyers are liars. And Ebay does not care. I guess any seller can be replaced by a new seller from China. Just trying to feed my family during covid and ebay just is unwilling to care.

Did you pass that bit of information on to the reps you spoke to?  If not then try again and ask the rep to review the messages between you and the buyer.

I have spoken to three reps. I did tell them about the messages before the sale. The last Rep just told me that in selling on ebay I have to accept that in these cases lie this I am going to have to take items back and refund customers. They just don't care. Buyers are Liars and they are ok with that
