Please educate me on 1 day shipping. I understood One Day Shipping or Same Day Shipping as being not just tracking uploaded, but parcels actually scanned, in the hands of the carrier within 1 business day. I recently purchased a few items advertised as same day shipping. Tracking was uploaded, yet 2 items took days to be in the hands of the Post Office. On this forum I have read conflicting answers. Think most of you will agree phoning eBay Customer Service is frustrating! Can we please hear from the experts? Have a bet riding on this!

It could be that the item ships out of the facility on the same day however USPS often takes time to do the initial scan. We've had many orders picked up same day and no scan for 5-7 days where it suddenly shows "in transit"... skipping the pickup scan.

I am an expert 1 day shipper.it has nothing to do with same day shipping and nothig to do with being scanned
sellers do not control the scanning,we can control the dropoff to the post office
1 day shipping means anything bought on friday saturday or sunday will need to be shipped by Monday

One-day shipping should mean a scan by the end of the next business day after the order was placed. But, as another poster mentioned, USPS is not scanning consistently these days. It's a COVID thing. My local post office often does not scan, so I don't get a scan until it gets to the sorting facility.
But your seller may be fibbing about the shipping time. I can't imagine guaranteeing same-day shipping because the order would have to be placed early enough in the day for me to get to the post office before it closes. I wouldn't want to make a habit of mad dashes to the Post Office. Or, if the business has pickup by the carrier, it's still at a certain time each day.

Simply put, One-Day shipping means it will be essentially overnighted from the day that you drop it off at the shipping clerk's desk.
However, please allow me to provide you with some tips. If your buyer wants overnight shipping, charge them $40 and buy UPS Next Day Air saver. UPS has REALLY Cheap overnight, and really reliable shipping as well; I've been scammed by buyers who I ship to using USPS and they claim they never received it even though they just didn't pick it up at the post office.
