Combined shipping

Someone bought 8 lots I had listed for buy it now all at once and asked in a note to seller during checkout if I could combine shipping and refund the difference.   I don't mind doing it but is this opening me up to a possible scam?   I don't advertize combined shipping and they didn't ask before purchase.

No there's no scam. However they should have contacted you first. If they paid you won't get the final value fees adjusted if you issue a partial refund. And how much of a savings is there if you ship everything in 1 box?
