Apologies if this is obvious or and oft asked question, or just me whining about getting burned... I've been a mostly buyer but occasional seller for 20 years, would consider myself fairly experienced and reasonable. I routinely purchase envelopes, post cards ephemera items etc mostly small, and often multiple lots largely from a handful of excellent repeat sellers. I personally have never combined shipping in my small selling "career," not sure procedurally how its done, and reading posts. Recently won 11 separate auctions from a seller and it appears ebay is calculating the summation of all shipping fees - which is $45 for barely $30 of paper - lol 8 of these items are single pieces of paper or envelopes @ $1 a piece purchase price... ie. there's no meaningful weight indivdiually or in total. I'm sure the actual postage is not more than $10 and even a generous $10 of handling and we are at less than 50% of what shows on invoice. I've clicked request combined shipping yesterday and today and haven't heard anything from seller at all. What are the steps and options here? I want the stuff and I guess will pay that $45 shipping if i have to...but will not be pleased and unlike a few other posts i've read on the topic here there isn't a planet in which its justified here ie. differently sized items, media combined with other, etc. I get it, combining shipping isn't dollar for dollar savings, but this is a bit next level and I wouldn't have purchased all of these items if I knew it would be .99 cents with $4 shipping X 5....
Appreciate the insight...

You need to contact the seller and ask if they combine shipping, some do and some don't.

Understood and I have a couple times including within an hour of the auctions closing, and just haven't received any acknowledgement of anything, on day 3 now...I saw talk of non payment strikes on other similar posts over years in the forums here (never had this so no idea what or how quickly they happen or how it works...)
Have purchased thousands of paper items over years and never once have I had it summate shipping like this, maybe I've gotten lucky with sellers I've purchased from - this just seems very sleazy.
