Hello there,

Very easy to ship Precious Stones to U S.

There are no Custom's fees for unmounted gems entering U S. Make sure to let your Buyers know. Taxes will apply to mounted and semi- mounted products but none for faceted stones

If you're selling high-end gems, you can use FedEx, DHL and UPS or whichever is available to you. There are private agents handling shipping services. You could contact  NGJA  for a list and  recommendations

This is how to contact Sri Lanka National Gem and Jewelry Authority

ngja.gov.lk/

I am sure they have a much better idea how to handle your shipping needs than these eBay community members here in U S

Well Hasin, here in the USA we would know nothing about your shipping. I did find a gem stone seller from SriLanka on ebay. Why don't you read how they ship their gem stones.

I'm taking a chance that this is what you are asking for.

Probably like anywhere else, you box it up, pay for shipping and send it on it's way.

Have a great day.

Generally speaking the best way to ship is with the postal service.

http://www.slpost.gov.lk/

They are part of the Universal Postal Union which connects all postal services in the world, through the Universal Postal Union Treaty of 1874.

Never ship Surface. Only Air Mail.

If your customer wants surface shipping, he is out to cheat you because it will take longer to arrive than eBay allows for delivery.

Since you seem to use free shipping for your other items but only price them at 99¢, I really have no idea.

That gem stone seller from Sri Lanka show his gems are located in the US so the comparison won't work.

That seems too simple to me. Are you sure it's that easy? LOL

If that isn't an interesting little bit of trivia. Never knew that. Must have been set up during the Pony Express days.

I'm not too sure that what you say is accurate.  I seriously doubt that US Customs  allows gemstones to be imported into the country free of any duty or fees.  If that is the case, it should be fairly easy to bring in a load of uncut diamonds.

If you are not sure, so, you're not!

Yes, stones in form of rough or faceted carry no import fees by U S Customs. Yes, it's  easy and no Taxes are applied  to "uncut diamonds".

If that is the case, there could be no such thing as diamond smuggling if they were uncut ones.  That's good to know.  I suppose that one would still have to declare them even though they were not subject to Duty or Taxes.

Diamonds get smuggled into U S because of moneylenders' sources. One could declare as much as Diamonds as they can, as long as whereabouts of funds are available. Undeclared items will be confiscated

I've gone through U S Customs and Border Protection few times😀. They are a serious bunch

*Sorry Hasintha, this has nothing to do with you, we're just talking and I need to give examples. There are good and bad people in any business. Precious Stone business isn't excluded. Especially when large transaction amounts are at work
