Can I re-use boxes to ship with USPS?

I have some Amazon and various brown boxes laying around. I was wondering if I can use those boxes to ship my items. I've always used the boxes that USPS provides for free on their site but I ran out and it takes 3-5 days for them to deliver so I don't have enough time.

Would this service work?

As a matter of fact, they were in racks in the customer service area along with greeting cards, packing supplies and all sorts of various Mailing/Shipping paraphernalia.

Maybe we're not talking about the same thing. The post offices I visit have boxes, packing supplies, etc. that they SELL. But I was specifically referring to Priority-labeled free boxes.

All of the post offices near me are not allowed to stock any of the non-flat rate Priority Mail boxes.

I have been to dozens of POs across small towns and large cities. They all vary GREATLY in what shipping supplies they carry - whether it's paid supplies or free priority supplies.

I have seen POs fully stocked and others that regularly carry next to nothing. It depends on your region and the specific PO.
