So the buyer purchased an item and wants me to ship it to the address he put in the buyer notes rather than the label. The buyer has a 100% rating and does this to apparently avoid his states sales tax. Will this void my seller protection or screw me over somehow?

@sammant0 Yes, this will void your seller protections, and you have so few as a seller. It is against policy for a seller to change or alter a ship to address. Cancel using the reason- problem with buyer's address, which is exactly what is happening here. Buyer will be fully refunded, and you will be refunded for your fees, minus the .30 cent transaction fee. Do not move forward on this sale as you will end up losing. Always keep your selling account first and foremost. Best of luck to you....

If you ship it to another address the buy can say he never got it and gets his money back.

buyer notes never mean much to me at all
buyer notes do not change ebay rules at all
I do not think your buyer is trying to avoid taxes with this scheme? at all
always ship to the address with the order
buyer notes are just that...........they are notes and really change nothing
if your buyer wants it shipped special they need to make a change befrore they pay
the buyer is trying to mislead you because they are either lazy or trying to scheme you

Do you really want to business with someone whose ethics are so low that he is not even ashamed to admit that he is willing to commit a felony? (Tax evasions).

Never ship to an address that is not on the ebay account. Zero protection from a possible scam. Tell them if they want the item you will cancel the purchase and have them repurchase with the other address added to their account. If they will not do that then you do not ship.

I had a buyer purchase an item few days ago and then he sent me a message asking me to ship to another person at a different address. I responded by stating that eBay requires sellers to only ship to the address provided with the order. And yes you can get screwed by sending to an unconfirmed address. I didn't hear back with a request to cancel so I shipped it to them.
