Should I be concerned when a buyer ask for auction item to be sent to another address? Payment is pending in my PayPal account. Crazy question but when I went to change buyer's address to print new label, the "Ebay seller protection eligible " was no longer highlighted. Again, payment was made promptly. Thanks in advance!!!

CHECK your Pay pal account for payment. Your Item is a hot item for scams. Do Not ship to any other address then on Pay Pal payment or you'll surely lose your Item and or money. Good Luck to you.

Absolutely, you should be concerned. You are a relatively new seller selling a high ticket item.
Tell the buyer that you MUST according to eBay and PayPal rules, ship to the address in the 'ships to' area on the PayPal payment. While you understand purchasing this for a loved one (or whatever excuse they gave), in order to do this you will be returning their payment. They then should repay the payment and where it states 'ships to' they should click on the little gray 'change' and type in the correct address. I usually when this happens also add in the message that since this will not be expected at that address I will be adding, free of charge to them, Signature Tracking.
One of two things will happen.
1. they will pay again
2. they will not pay or will attempt to pressure you to do something else. This usually will mean that they had intended to file an INR on you and get both the item and their cash back.

Yes, you should. As others have posted, you need to ship to the address given at payment to be covered by PayPal Seller Protection.
Also, you said it's pending in PayPal. Does it say "OK to Ship?" That's the first thing you need to verify. Pending and On Hold are different. A Hold is okay. It's normal for a new seller. Pending could mean the payment is still processing.
