Buyer purchased large item and wants to use USHIP to deliver. How should i get my psyment?

An out-of-state buyer purchased some large items from me and wants to use USHIP to pick tbem up and deliver them. Obviously Uship driver isnt going to pay me the cash at pickup so how should I have buyer pay me? Should they just pay through ebay or send a postal money order? I want to make sure Im protected in case there is an issue since they will not be able to inspect item prior to shipment.

First I suggest you do some Due Diligence

Secondly, if you do not how something is going to work then maybe you should not be doing it.

Your buyer must pay in advance through eBay - not a money order. Then make sure you get a tracking number to prove delivery.

Then re-read the above. I wouldn't do it.

If you had this item as local pick up only you need to cancel the order then call uship for a quote. You can then relist the item accordingly with the amount of the sale and the shipping charge that uship will charge so you can collect the money. You do not let the customer arrange shipping period because it could be a scam and they could provide an alternate address other than whats on ebay then claim they never received it so you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

I assume this is for the dresser set, for which you specified Free Local Pickup, so the buyer just needs to pay you for the item itself. Once they have done that, you can provide the pickup location to the buyer, and it's up to them to either collect it themselves or send someone of their choosing to pick it up. (You could also let their driver pay you at pickup time, but I would definitely accept cash only, nothing else.)

In other words, it's up to the buyer to arrange for USHIP to collect it; it's not your responsibility. You listed the item for Local Pickup, not shipping.

You're right that the buyer might not be able to inspect it at pickup time, but that's their problem. If they want to return it later after a Local Pickup, it would be up to them to return it to you; it would not be your expense to pay for its return, as you did not ship it in the first place.

You have to use an irrevocable payment method, as eBay requires online-viewable tracking for a sale.

You can use Managed Payments or regular PayPal, the buyer can have the shipping company pick up the furniture, and then the buyer can dispute the payment and you would lose. Something like a PayPal friends & family payment, Venmo, Zelle, a USPS money order that you cash at a post office before the furniture is picked up, or actual cash on pickup.

eBay requires at least one electronic payment option for a Local Pickup Only listing, but does not require online-viewable tracking since of course there is no shipment to track. The buyer (or his shipper) can provide either a QR code or its 6-digit equivalent at collection time as proof of pickup.

Might want to brush up on eBay's latest local pickup policies.

Seller scan no longer use PayPal, and buyers don't use Managed Payments to pay for purchases. Not sure what this statement means . . .
