Buyer claims item faulty

Sold item over a month ago, tracking shows item delivered at the time & no contact from buyer until today I have had a return request saying item was faulty. At the time they asked me to write a number on outer packaging because they were buying multiple of same item from elsewhere too. I'm not happy accepting return after this long, it was completely brand new sealed item when I posted it. I've messaged ebay but wondered what anyone else suggests too.

What was the exact date of delivery @newbeginnings4me2015 ?

Was the not as described claim filed on eBay or PayPal?

Was this transaction on .co.uk? I ask because you're on the US .com discussion boards so the policies and time frames here might differ from the UK.
