Hello,
I sold an expensive pair of shoes worth well over $500 and the buyer claims that I sent the wrong item, I contacted the other buyers I shipped out to on the same day and they confirmed what they purchased is what they received. I accepted the return because they is what eBay instructed me to do and what I got back was a pair of old beat up shoes that I have never possessed/sold and no where near the same weight or value of the package I'm not sure what can be done at this point.

Refund the buyer.
File mail fraud and a police report, then use those reports to appeal the case.

This is fraud and if you follow these steps EXACTLY, it is the experience of posters here that ebay will make you whole.
Don't for get to report buyer and add them to your blocked buyer list!

@cdub_kicks You have a low number of feedback scores which makes you look like a new seller. That makes you a target for scammers. Also the types of shoes you are selling get targeted by scammers. You will run into this again so best to learn how to defend yourself and make sure you report this buyer everywhere you can. Try to build up your FB scores, try purchasing small items yourself in order to build up your score. In time they will leave you alone. Best of luck to you....

IN addition to the others' suggestions, I would contact the buyer via ebay messages only (no phone or personal emails) and give them a chance to return the shoes you mailed to them. Ask them to make sure that they didn't mix you up with other seller. Also indicate to them that if they indeed received these old shoes, the package must have been tempered with along the way and let them know that you plan to file a case with the agencies (you can list them) and that this is a very serious crime, possibly federal interstate (if the buyer lives in another state) with severe penalties.
If they insist that they did receive these old shoes or do not respond with 2-3 days, you need to file these cases and after filing each one of them. After filing with an agency and receiving a confirmation number, I would send the buyer a message after each filing 'informing' them about the steps you are taking. This will still give them a chance to make it right.

I contacted eBay and eBay told me that once I received item back I can dispute the case but once I received item I contacted eBay and they didn't want to help me the told me it was part of doing business. I just Lost 150 dollars Screw ebay!!!
