Assurance that EBay label system for printing purchased label is functioning properly PRIOR TO BUYIN

During the previous week, I spent hours attempting to purchase/print EBay Shipping label for a buyer, who had already included shipping cost with her payment for item.

I was unsuccessful for hours. NEXT DAY: created a label personally & took buyer pkg to USPS; used a Flat Rate Priority box to ship item; Cost me via credit card: $21.50, but 2 day delivery stated that would met estimated delivery date.

I'm a long term collector of multiple categories of collectaaibles. I would like to list & sell as many as possible of these items individually vs. a group. Prior to listing & then encounter the same debacle as last week I would like to ensure that the label printing function is OPERATING,  as repaying shippings fees defeats any selling benefits. Would prior confirmation re; status of printing labels be available to me???

Sorry, but it's impossible to predict when eBay's shipping system will have a hiccup.  There wasn't a flood of complaints about this yesterday, so apparently this was not a widespread issue.  

In the future if eBay's label system isn't working for you, there are other online places where you can purchase a shipping label for the same discounted online rate as on eBay, including PayPal at www.PayPal.com/shipnow .

Also, make sure that you've chosen the most economical Priority Mail option; often the regular rates (based on weight and distance) cost less than the flat rate box.

I have never had any issue with eBay shipping labels.

If the listings are set up correctly and I use the correct box and pick the correct option I have never been charged extra at the PO.

Never really had a problem with ebay's USPS shipping.  Good discounts and accurate pricing.  Ebay FedEx and Ebay UPS is a different story.

Were you trying to print the label form the app or from a PC?  I've read that the app has more problems.

If you are having problems with ebay shipping you can also print online labels on other platforms.  I believe that paypal.com/shipnow, stamps.com and pirateship charge online pricing.  I think that the second two can also connected to ebay so that you don't have to type in all of the information.  As I don't use usps I haven't tried the last two platforms but many people here do use them.

as described in other replies it is not possible to know when eBay will have bad times with the system. these 'bad fluctuations are not only random with time but with people, meaning that everything may be ok with you but I am struggling. In addition, just a personal problem with shipping labels that I have had (Macbook Pro), was that I would freeze when going to print labels when I hit 'print labels'. To get around this I hit 'download labels' and print them as a PDF.
