As a buyer, how do you make an offer for an item that has shipping charge & local pickup options?

I want to make an offer on an item that has an option for free local pickup.

But my offer always has the shipping charge included.

Offers are for the item price only, not shipping.  If the listing has a shipping price, you pay that posted price for shipping.

Local pickup means just that - pickup only, no shipping. The seller does not want to ship.  Do not ask them to.

If you make an offer and the seller accepts, be prepared to go pick the item up.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I don't think that is what the OP is asking.

I think they're asking if they will be forced to pay the shipping cost if it's included in the offer. The answer is no. When you actually pay for the item you can select local pickup at checkout, you won't be forced to pay shipping.

In this case, the seller IS offering either free local pickup or traditional shipping.

I want to make an offer for an item and select local pickup instead of including shipping in addition to my offer. But there seems to be no way to do that. See picture. Shipping costs are always added to my offer.$10 shipping is automatically added$10 shipping is automatically added

You're close....thank you for paying attention.

I want to MAKE AN OFFER first.

Then they accept.

Then I pay (and maybe get an option to select local pickup or shipping)

THE PROBLEM is that making an offer ASSUMES I will be paying for shipping

and automatically ADDS IT to my offer. I want my offer to be with NO shipping.

Gotcha!

The offer is for the item only.  If there is a pickup option AND a shipping option you choose the one you want when you check out.

If the seller accepts your offer AND you  choose local pickup at checkout when you pay there will be no shipping charge - you go pick the item up.  If you choose to have the item shipped and choose the shipping option, you'll pay the item price plus the shipping.

That $10 in italics is going to be problematic. I'm guessing with the inclusion of the new shipping policies that a weird one was applied without the seller knowing.

I would contact the seller via message, let them know the issue and the price you are willing to pay OTD, then the seller can message you with an offer through the message system and any options can be tweaked on their end so there is no confusion.

How they respond and the manner in which they respond, will also give you an idea on whether or not you will feel comfortable picking up from this individual.

I kind of tried that. It has been years since I was a seller so I cannot remember how these things sort out.

My offer is $25 on a $32 item with $10 express shipping.

If I make an offer of $25, it adds $10 to make a $35 total offer.

So I went down to $15 which I thought presented them with $25.

But it just looks like a $15 offer to them.

What a mess!!!

Then you are not aware that a newer feature is that the SELLER can legitimately send you an offer through the message system but you have to message them first.
