In the good ol days I could put in that a package was 4.5 by 4.5 by 5. Now I have to round up. Second, the old format allowed me to state that the pkg was a 12 x 9 envelope. Not now people. Doesnt ebay realize high shipping costs can stop a sale and even they don't make any money. I wonder if I can go back to the old selling format. ps we are all in this thing together. Kitty

Package dimensions don't affect your postage cost unless the length is over 22 inches, or the package volume is over 1 cubic foot (1728 cubic inches). USPS policy is that dimensions are rounded off, so 4.4 inches would be entered as 4, and 4.5 inches as 5, but there is no need to be concerned about the difference between 4 inches and 5 inches unless your package volume is near the 1728 cubic inch threshold.
The new eBay listing form has dropped the options to enter your piece as a USPS First Class letter or flat (AKA Large envelope). You have to choose "Standard" shipping and enter a flat shipping price. You can look up the current prices for letters and flats here:
