I would like sellers/buyers thoughts on shipping/receiving new leather bound hardback books.
1. Your thoughts on new books wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap then inserted and shipped inside a
bubble mailer.
2. Your thoughts on new books wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap then shipped in a box.
I am specifically interested in if these types of book can be safely shipped in bubble mailers or should only be shipped in boxes.

At least a book is rigid. We just received an order from an Ebay seller that contained OX plastic kitchen utensils with a soft flexible plastic face on the box. The seller had shipped it wrapped in brown paper like many of our grandparents used decades ago and hardly any tape holding it together. To top it off, the paper was torn partially open on the face. I thought that we were not allowed to ship things wrapped in plain brown paper any longer. I hope they don't send all their orders that way.

I always do that as we use an inkjet printer and I am concerned about the ink running if it gets wet. That said, our post office told us we should only cover 1/2 of the scan bar code as it may not scan otherwise. Well we have just ignored that advice, covered the entire label and never had any problems yet with over 10,000 packages shipped. Thank you for your advice and confirming my thoughts on that issue.
That was written with fibered tape in mind. If you use clear tape the scanners have no trouble with it. Leaving part of the barcode exposed won't hurt if there is just a little drizzle but when it is pouring down the water can wick under the tape and ruin the whole barcode though we maybe able to read it and put in the numbers manually.
I have shipped hundreds of packages, all with the label completely covered. I also have about 100+ scans a day on my mail route. I have yet to have a package not scan due to being taped over.
