I accidentally printed a label twice, and then attached it to two different packages so the second package went to the duplicate address instead of the correct buyer. I did not realize it until it was too late and the item was delivered. The recipient has stopped replying to messages so I sent a replacement to the actual buyer already but is there any recourse I can take to try and get my original item back? Or am I at the mercy of the person it got delivered to?

You likely won't get it back. Buyer has no obligation. Think of it as a valuable learning experince. I bet it never happens again and you take more time and thought into your actions. EBay is not a get rich quick scheme, it takes time and dedication to do right. You are not out what the item sold for, only the cost to you and shipping.

While buyers can file an item not as described case and get a refund. There is no I sent the wrong item and want it back case a seller can file. You can message the person it's going to and offer to pay it's return shipping. They may or many not return it.
You could try and recall the package. However, if you printed two of the same exact labels and not just two to the same address and could confuse things and mess up both deliveries. You might be billed a surcharge for all that too.

I did the same thing. Did you ever get charged by Ebay for the cost of the label attached to the 2nd package?

Oh it is a literal nightmare, I did this by accident and the shipping was like 93$ USPS audited and charged eBay who then charged me for shortage of shipping. Which was my mistake so i ate the cost ... except USPS has charged me a second time as well through eBay doubling the charges and there is no way to dispute eaisly ... received a runaround from eBay and USPS both ... Check those labels carefully...
