Seller ask me to confirm delivery

Hello folks, need some help here.

I bought a watch from a Swiss based seller. A few days after the transaction (paid through PayPal), the seller asked me to confirm that I'd received the item so he could get the money asap. He said his account would be frozen in 2 weeks time, and he needs the money to go to Germany.

Should I help him out?

I have not seen eBay shipping tracking update on this purchase as he claimed.

Of course not. Once you confirm delivery, there will be no need for the seller to send you the item. Wait until you receive the item before you confirm delivery.

No. There is no way for you to do what he asked, and even if you could you shouldn't because it's probably a scam.

No way. What the seller is asking you to do is impossible. 

How can you confirm delivery when the item was never shipped out?

Well, you have three (3) no way's so I'm adding an additional, No.  While I may or may not sympathize with the Seller, his funds frozen are not your issue.

Hope that the item is delivered w/tracking soon 🙂

eBay writes "Item has been dispatched." That's all. No tracking whatsoever.

The only way to confirm that an item has been delivered is for tracking to show delivery in an online viewable format from a recognized carrier.  You can't fabricate it.  

Tell the seller that it's simply not possible to do.

If someone asks you to 'confirm delivery' and they are using the English language properly, they are not asking you to do anything other than that. That means that when you receive the item, confirm with the seller that the delivery has occurred.

I've decided not to honor his request even today, after he uploaded a German tracking number. My concern is how could he get my gmail address, that his request was not sent through eBay messaging. He sounds genuinely needy, at the same time a bit fishy. I'm a bit taken aback at his poor financial situation.

If you paid via PayPal, your email address appears in the transaction details for the payment record in the seller's Paypal account.  

You have made the right decision: Even with a tracking number, there is no reason for you to attempt to get the seller's funds released faster (and probably no way to do that anyway), and his behavior is somewhat fishy.  I hope you get your item!

Folks, the watch arrived as promised. No hassles. Too bad, I can't take chances to help him out with his issues with PayPal in a timely manner. At least and at last, he got a 5-Star rating and earned my trust.
