I changed (following a very wise advice) my store name to something google would like, to something containing certain product related keywords... look what happened to my impressions. And, of course, instead of average 10 orders per day, exactly ZERO for 2 days already. My advice: never ever change your store name. I set it back to the old name, in hope the search engine will remember it. Otherwise, I am f***ed with 30+ grand of parts in stock, they don't sell at all.

Google has to re-index you, and it rewards longevity. Just give it a little time.

Did Google tell you it would like it better? Of course, when you make changes, it's not going to be picked up instantly and it will take a little bit to climb back to the top. Not saying you're right or wrong, just maybe a little too impatient. Good luck to you.

It doesn't matter what your store name is - what matters is the content that goes along with it. I've never heard of a 'google friendly' store name - the product-related keywords are picked up along with your store name. Google doesn't "like" things, it's just a search engine.

Just hang tight.

Okay guys, thank you for the information. I actually didn't know that it is google, what feeds eBay search results... I expected eBay to have their own search engine, and most customers are looking from "inside eBay" for items, and not from a site like google.com?! Okay, than it makes sence, of course.

eBay: "Tip: Choose a name that immediately tells buyers what you sell. For example, a straightforward name such as "Ben's Computers" will be more helpful to buyers than a creative name such as "Zebra Park." This will also help Web search engines find your Store when buyers are looking for the kinds of products you sell."

The advice is from eBay itself, but this is obviously not completele true.

@universal-solder hi bud, ebay does have their own search engine. i have changed my ebay store one. google cant reindex in immediately. and anything on google for your store or ID, forwards to your new store for this very reason.

there may be some other problem.

seriously, i checked it when i changed mine. 4 days after, all my page one google listings forwarded to my new id one. and i can still direct link to my new store ID with my old one over a year later

If i were u , i would call ebay

Granted i changed my store name from "keithharrierenterprises" to "Keith Harrier Enterprises". i did not change my actual ebay user id though, just the store name

but the forwarding is in policy though

ebay has their own search engine. It just doesn't work very well(and that's an understatement). That's why I only go thru 'ending soonest' and 'newly listed'. If you do a search using ebay, you usually get junk, even though all of the words you enter are in the title.

@keithharrierenterprisesthanks for the input. You didn't change the way eBay puts the shop URL together, right? I mean the URL didn't change when you changed the name, right?

when you change your store name the url does change. but here is my new one.

as u can see they both take you to the same place. click both links. i changed my store name over a year ago. ... im tell u ebay forwards the old to the new, so that there are no broken links. they want their money

thats why im saying that u need to talk to ebay

check my old and new links and u can see they both bo to the same exact place
