You know, I know this was supposed to be a joke and sarcasm and all that, but to mock people for not spending money for eBay purchases on the brink of a world-wide recession--even in jest--is just, well, insensitive at best.
Sellers post on these boards all the time about how they can't pay their eBay fees or their bills or put foot on the table, and we're all supposed to be so supportive and sympathetic. If anyone criticizes those posts, sellers come flocking to the person's rescue with comments about how "this is people's living" and "not everyone can afford the loss of income," and then everyone has been admonished and feels guilty for ever suggesting that sellers should do something differently.
Many people have had their hours cut at their jobs, or lost their jobs, or seen their business income decline, or watched their retirement investment accounts drop like a rock. But they should be buying on eBay? From you?
Why would you think people should watch out for you before taking care of themselves?
Well, making light of people for not spending their money on your items--keeping their money for food or rent or monthly expenditures instead of sending it to you--is just wrong, IMO. And not funny.
