what usps number should sellers call to encourage delivery?

hi. i’ve seen a few post where packages get screwed up and the seller made a call to get it sorted. my situation is the package went out for delivery on the 21st, but ends up saying ...

As of March 21, 2018 at 9:01 pm, your package is still on its way. We apologize that it will arrive later than expected.

instead of delivered. no further updates.

i just messaged buyer encouraging them to contact their local post, as that’s obviously who has it. but i don’t want to be dependent on the buyer being proactive. if nothing happens on monday i’d like to figure it out before inr and refund requests start.

what number would i call, as i do not know which post office is her deliverer and i know from my city it’s not necessarily the one closest to her address?

thsnks!

  1. Go to USPS.com
  2. Select Quick Tools >> Find USPS Locations
  3. Type in the zip code
  4. Click on the post office for phone number
  5. Call and ask for someone that can help you the package ... they should also be able to help you out if another branch is handling tha package.

@ericlovescameras This has happened to me before a few times and I usually just call the main USPS customer service number 1 (800) 275-8777 as calling the individual branches usually just ring out and no one answers. The key is you are going to get stuck in their automated system and it takes a while to get a "representative" on the phone. You must say representative a million times at their automated questions until you finally get through. But once you do get through it is fairly easy, you'll get a case number and then the packages usually "unsticks" itself in the next day or two.

You can also do a package trace from their website but I have never had positive results like calling.

I hope this helps!
