If you are registered as a business your EIN is used for all reporting. However, a company still has to have a person responsible for the account, which requires a SSN/TIN to confirm that person, even though not used otherwise.

For sure. The IRS is going to want some way to collect taxes.

I am hoping to utilize an EIN for a non profit that I volunteer for an organization that I volunteer for.
How do I go about setting this up?
