Well, once again EBAY does NOTHING to back up the seller! As a twenty-year seller (TOP-RATED PLUS) who has always been blessed with 100% feedback (I go the extra mile to keep it, believe me!), I received my first negative feedback today, which at my request EBAY did not remove, and here is my story...
I ship the item, a large book, on time and USPS tracking confirms that it was delivered today, 11/23 (Saturday) at 3:42 p.m. IN THE MAILBOX. Within an hour, with NO notification from the buyer, I see that I receive a negative feedback from said buyer stating that the 'item was stolen off their front porch.' Not only did I get blindsided, I didn't even have time to send them a refund (which I did immediately thereafter) before they left the negative- but EBAY customer service or whatever it is (or isn't) would not remove the negative! What is EBAY coming too? How can an event beyond a seller's control be our fault? Did I steal the item 'off the front porch?' The buyer is probably lying anyway being a scammer, but that's not the point. The point is that this negative FB injustice is so infuriating, I don't know what to do. Its hard enough getting sales on this platform, I have to scratch and claw and use every artifice to make one measly sale, every little advantage helps, and I believe 100% feedback is a necessary tool for more sales. I personally feel more secure buying from a seller with top FB, so I assume that's the case with most buyers! I feel like just closing up my EBAY store and saying screw it, because obviously EBAY doesn't have your back and hasn't for MANY YEARS NOW!!!

Name calling isn't nice. Not a single response called you any names.

Make sure you look in the mirror on your way out!
We're rude and condescending? You're the one who hijacked someone else's thread!
Again, no one has been rude to you. We've only pointed out the mistakes you made that might have been the catalyst for the buyer's feedback.

The only rude one is you. I've reported the comment before this one in which you used a blatant insult, but really I'm quite glad you're leaving and hopefully you'll stop commenting here too.

I sold two items. One item sold when I was away and I was never notified. When I got home I checked my items I had listed for sale and found that one was purchased. I immediately contacted the buyer and explained what happened. The buyer was angry because a few days passed and they didn't receive their item. I told them I was very sorry and would immediately get the item out to them, which I did. They had already placed an item not received complaint against me. They said in a feedback that I took their money and didn't send the item. They were new to Ebay and only had a one (review) next to their user name. They said they were new to Ebay and didn't know how the feedback system worked. They left me Negative Feedback. I contacted Ebay several times over this. They said they would only take the comment off and that the Negative would remain because I deserved it. Then another buyer received a damaged item that UPS delivered. I've received several packages delivered by UPS that were damaged badly. I contacted Ebay and did exactly what they told me. UPS said for the buyer to hold onto the package so they can complete their investigation. The buyer was mad at me for this, claiming that i stole their money, and demanding me to reimburse them. I did not have their money, Ebay did. It wasn't my fault the package was damaged. Again Ebay will not remove the Negative feedback even though it was their fault and UPS. I've been with Ebay over 23 years and never had a problem like this. It's horrible how they treat their long standing members. I'm going to leave them for good and I'm closing out my account. They are not the only game in town. Has anyone else had a similar experience like this?

When you do a feedback removal request to eBay. And I'm going by memory so I may get the terms a little mixed up. You can choose the reason of (something like) problem is out of my control and it gives examples such as weather and so forth. And when you describe the problem put in the tracking number and state that the package was shipped on time and that the tracking states the package was delivered and the feedback should be removed because delivery took pace.
If you called up customer no service you will get nowhere. You have to fill out the feedback removal request form. I had a similar problem such as yours and the feedback was removed because the feedback dealt with shipping.

Wondering if all the sellers you have left negative feedback on also felt like your feedback was unfair.
“ They were new to Ebay and only had a one (review) next to their user name.”
It’s a shame one of their first experiences here turned out negatively.
At what feedback level should buyers be able to truthfully rate their experience.?

How is it ebay's fault when you chose the shipping service?
Since you buy in the same category as you sell and having had your own share of unhappy buying experiences, you'd be a bit more empathetic toward a buyer with complaints similar to your own.

I was of the same mind as you. When I first started a few years ago I sold a DVD. Within a week the buyer asked where it was as they had no rec'd it. I check tracking and all it said was it was in transit. I relayed that to the buyer - giving them the tracking # as well. Every day I checked and still "in transit" After 10 days, I told the buyer (who by now was getting **bleep**) that I am refunding the amount paid and if by chance she receives the DVD, she can keep it. She never responded to me by did leave a negative immediately sayin it was never rec's. I answered the negative that I refunded and told her to keep it if it was received. I asked her and ebay to remove negative as this was beyond my control but neither would. I was really annoyed as I had 100% but then after a bit I realized that as a buyer, I read negative feedbacks. It is usually obvious if the seller is a dog or is it the buyer being a jerk. So I figured if other buyers read my feedback they will see what happened and understand it was not my fault. Since then I relaxed about the FB but I do understand your frustration. Ebay should really treat the sellers better. After all if it was not for sellers, they'd be out of business.

Your own Feedback Left for Others shows no fewer than seven Negs - four of which were complaining about slow shipping.

I love your attitude. It is annoying and upsetting to receive a negative feedback, especially if it's truly undeserved.

Sometimes Karma seems to be a real thing. I can't imagine that any of those sellers they nailed with negative feedback felt good about it either. They too likely felt the same way as @gyp*sy about the feedback they received.

Original message from 11/23/24. OP still has quite a few listings up, so guess all's well in Oz.
