Just sold an item and just before I was going to ship got a email from paypal saying possible unauthorized access on buyers part and that they were looking into it. So I am waiting after giving them some info they requested and have not heard back in a few days. Meanwhile shipping time is now late as they have told me not to ship. Will ebay punish me for not shipping on time? Should I go ahead and just refund the payment? We just received a very strange phone call that stated they were cancelling our license and IP address within 48 hours and the caller ID came up as our own number. Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks, Anna

First of all, you ignore that phone call, which makes no technical sense (you don't "cancel" someone's IP address, and I have no idea what "license" might be involved with anything). That sounds like just a coincidence of timing. The fact that they also spoofed the Caller ID to show your own phone number simply reinforces that it's a scam call. We get the occasional scam phone call (usually a recording) and just hang up.

As for the message from PayPal, I would phone them up now and ask for the current status (assuming that the email did indeed come from them).

Yes, ignore the phone call. 

Mark the item UNPAID

Wait until the money clears, give it 2-4 days. Check daily, if not more.

If it does not clear, call PayPal and they will handle it. 

Been there, had that happen.....

It did not effect my performance - that I have seen, I better check again.....

The scam phone call probably had nothing to do with your eBay sale, it is just a scam that is run in many varieties all the time.  I probably get 40 various scam calls a day (4 different lines coming into my phone).
