tricky scam link sent through messaging

So, I get a message from a potential 'buyer" who just opened their ebay account yesterday, based in Puerto Rico-

The buyer said that they couldn't pay; ($1200 item), here is what they said, minus the scam link--

"When I try to pay with PayPal, it says that the
seller does not accept the payment method for now and sends me thisarticle: "

Right after the word articale, they had an error message that included the word paypal and ebay and ended with .html

So, I thought to myself, I will copy and paste this error message, and odds are, it will pop up in a forum somewhere and I might get a clue about what the prolem was. but it didn't just being up google findings, it wanted to open a page, but it open a warning page-- my software apparently recognized that is was highly risky-- (using a mac) and it said flat out that it was risky--

This is my wife's ebay ID, I have another ID that I have been selling on full time for 10 years. And this was a first for me. I wonder how I could report that to eBay---

Generally when a potential buyer is trying something illegal they will ask for your paypal address to send payment to?  It does not sound like this happened in your situation?

You can either call eBay, report an eBay message, or if it came to your personal email address you can forward it to spoof@ebay.com

I hope that helps?

Good Luck Selling!
