subtitle import product fees

Hi everyone,

I recently bulk-uploaded a large number of products to eBay from another store. That store included a "Subtitles" column in its listings, which was unintentionally transferred during the upload. As a result, I’ve incurred over $1,000 in subtitle fees.

Since then, I’ve removed all subtitles from the listings and reached out to eBay support about a week ago, with several follow-ups. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any helpful resolution so far.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? Is there anything else I can do to dispute or recover these fees?

Thanks in advance!

Contacting eBay & requesting a courtesy removal is really your only option.  I've rec'd one before on expensive choices like this, but it was a handful of listings, not 1000 & it was a long time ago.

Hopefully they can do the same... the charge has hit my bank account and it is not feeling great...

There's really nothing to dispute, you said yourself you uploaded them with subtitles, even if it was a mistake.

I'm sure.  I would keep trying, I don't do Social Media, but someone will be along who can tell you how to reach them on SM as well.  Some people have better luck with those reps.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

You should be aware that eBay does not like sellers "double -listing" on other sites.

The rep might be more sympathetic than the company that pays their wages though.

It is unlikely that Ebay is going to forgive that much in fees.  Sorry.  I'm sure that isn't what you want to hear.

I wish you the best.
