hey, could you help me here? I had some items listed and then I cancelled them, and repeated that process several times, and the items were auctions and there was a reserve price, and now i saw i have a selling fee of 557$. any suggestions? I  did'nt even sell those items, so I made no money.

selling fees

Reserve is a listing upgrade that is charged at the time of listing just as any other upgrade. Upgrades fees are not tied to an item selling.

That charge is shown before you click to list.

It is non-refundable.

You might call, and tell them you did not understand.

Based on your Sold history, you have many sales.

You say you cancelled them, but did you go through the official channels?  If not, eBay doesn't know and won't credit your selling fees (which are assessed at the time of sale - not time of payment).  The reason you cancel can impact your selling abilities.

Reserves cost money - and that's a non-refundable listing upgrade.  Those were shown to you when you launched your listing.

selling fees

If you have active bids on you auction and you end the auction early, you still must pay the fee based upon the max bid at the time the auction ended. No bids, no fee, 10 dollar bid in a 9% category you pay .90 for the early cancellation.

Plus..... you pay all the fees associated with the listing - bold, extra category, reserve fee, etc.

So a number of reasons you could have ended up owing a fortune for selling nothing.

Cheers

Here's some help: List stuff, sell stuff, pay the bill. You're welcome.

Try to avoid cancelling sales. If you want a certain price list the item at that price. But be aware of fees it will usually display listing fee when you hit submit. You will still pay 10% fvf if you made a sale and cancelled it unless buyer requested. It also damages your seller metrics if you cancel to many sales. I don't think reserve price is a good idea. As I mentioned list at the minimal price you want and complete the sale. Otherwise you'll end up with more negatives in your feedback. Keep an eye on whats owed to eBay daily, myeBay / account. I generally pay me eBay fees daily. Know that if you use listing upgrades these cost money to.
