@sonschu-0

I can see you have already started selling and it's a pretty pricey item.  New sellers are under Ebays radar when they start off with high dollar items.  They want to make sure your focus is to be a trusted and honest seller and not just signing on to make quick buck.  Don't be surprised if you get bidders for your computer you've got listed and they don't pay you.  These are called sport bidders and non paying bidders.

I would remove that laptop or will run into some problems.  You are a scam magnet as a new seller and so are those types of merchandise.  They'll ask you to text them, they'll want you to send them your paypal address and send to another address.  Do not engage with these types or you will loose your money and the laptop.  Sell only through the Ebay platform and the payment options Ebay provides.

Also if the item sells for a good price, don't be surprised either if ebay asks you to provide receipts for that particular item.  Ebay will also hold your money for 30 days to make sure if there is a problem with the transaction, the money will be there to refund the buyer.

You've got a lot to learn and so far I'm seeing a lot of red flags.  Ebay is over run with fraudulent and stolen merchandise and they are cracking down hard on it.  I'm not saying this is your issue, I'm just stating you are taking a terrible risk selling this here on Ebay.  The E-commerce platforms of today are scammers galore.

I would hate to see you loose this item, so please consider what I have suggested as I can almost guarantee others will tell you the same.

Good luck and Happy Selling

Rule #1.
Do not sell anything you cannot afford to lose! I won't discuss the process, but it is VERY EASY to steal items from ebay sellers. Ebay, and in the past paypal, makes it simple and without consequences. For details, ask the internet and you'll find lots of novice sellers that learned the hard way about selling stuff of high value.

Rule #2
Sell high value items for "Local Pickup" only. Yes, less potential buyers, but you can meet at a police station and be paid in cash.

Rule #3.

Beware the pitfalls of international shipping (ask the internet)...it can turn into a giant and expensive headache. Ebay promotes it's system where you only have to ship to a US address and they handle the international part from there. However, this does not protect you from disputes...you can really lose a lot of money fast in these situations...more money than you received.

Rule #4.

Start out selling low value items to gain some experience. I doubt there is a single ebay seller that doesn't have a "theft" story; eventually, you will get taken and the higher the item value, the more likely the lesson.

Rule #5.
No mater where or what you sell online, there are risks. Learn to mitigate those risks through research, not through taking losses. Google for stories of losses incurred in online sales and learn from their mistakes. There are some dooozies out there...like a guy that sold a very expensive Rolex and another that sold a commercial AC unit...the Rolex guy lost it, the AC guy got a refund from eBay because the story went viral.

Because you are new seller I wanted to caution you that scammers target "new sellers" or anyone selling high value items (things that can be easily resold).    Anyone can purchase your item and then "reverse credit charges" after they receive item (keep item and  your money).    This is just all part of selling online.   You will not be protected if you get scammed.

You should research the many different types of scams going around (so you don't become a victim).    Here are some things you should look for:

-customer bids much more than item is worth (they will reverse "credit card charges" after they receive item).

-highest bidder has brand new account & no feedback.

-customer ask you to ship to different address (against EBAY rules and customer can claim "I never rec'd item" and you will be forced to give full refund).

-customer asks you for your personal email address or to text them (want you to buy "gift card" or steal your identity).

-customer insists that you send item by "overnight shipping" (they want package in a hurry before you realize you have been scammed and sent USPS "package intercept").

-scammer emails you a phony PayPal receipt (showing they paid for item) to trick into believing item was paid for (never ship anything until your EBAY account shows "awaiting shipment").

-ask to return item (they return a box of rocks) you are forced to give customer full refund (EBAY believes customer is always right).

You just received some great advice from some respected sellers above.

To those I would add:

COMMUNICATION. Keep open channels between yourself and the buyer. Expect to get questions and try your best to answer them.

You aren't required to do so, but if you read through other threads here, you will see a lot of posts where sellers lost sales because they wouldn't answer a buyer's question before a purchase or refused to communicate when something went wrong in shipping.

As a buyer, I'd rather get an answer that I don't like than to not get one at all. A frustrated and ignored buyer will have no problem wrecking your feedback score if they feel you didn't care.
