seller is taking a break on my account is in error

There's a mistake in your post, it somehow linked to a search instead of just posting the message.  This is what it appears it should say:

"I am having an issue with my selling account. When a customer goes to buy it now they get a message that says this seller is taking a break. I do not have time away selected on my account. I called customer service 2 days ago and cthey told me my issue was being escalated to IT because they couldn't solve it at customer service. they said I would get an amail in 24 hours. I have not gotten an email. I have tried to contacte them 3 times today starting at 2:30 eastern and each time it says i am calling outside of normal business hours! Any help would be appreciated."

I do indeed see the following message on your listings:

Just to make sure, you have looked at your Time Away settings here to make sure nothing is enabled, right?: https://www.ebay.com/vac/TimeAway

I don't know that I've ever seen a mistake in that regard, though I wouldn't say it can't happen.

As for the part about contacting customer service, how did you contact them?  If you found a number online, it was not eBay.  You can only get a call back from them, but you cannot call eBay directly. eBay does not have a phone number you can call directly, but there are several ways to contact them.

(If needed) You can click this link to chat with an agent, or request a callback if that's offered:

Or you can contact eBay customer service via Facebook, X, or Instagram by sending a private message (don't post publicly on these pages):

I just viewed your listings and it shows "seller is away until May 10".    You need to go to SELLER TOOLS, TIME AWAY and cancel your time away.

after 2 days and not getting an email from IT I decided to try and set up a time away for 24 hours  with the customer being able to purchase during that time. I am hoping that when the time away expires it may reset my account. i figured it was worth a try. Interestingly I could not even get to speak to customer service today to even see if they are working on my  issue. You actually can call them. I spoke with them 2 days ago. However today when I go through the menu and request to speak to an agent they said I was calloing ouside of their normal hours. I just now tried again and this time they said they could not connect me to an agent at this time. 877-322-9227

EBAY does NOT have a published phone number.   Any phone number you get off the internet is a scammer.

Only way for Sellers to contact EBAY is to request a "call back" through EBAY help screen.

You cannot reach eBay via that number.  Luckily I don't think it's been taken over by scammers at this time, but it will never work to reach an agent.

Find Time Away on the overview page and click on it.  There will be an option to end time away now.
